New dimensions are available for tracking product performance based on UTM parameters.

Starting from February 23, 2025, new dimensions have been added in Datma for the PixelEvents datasource! These enhancements provide deeper insights into your website traffic and customer behavior, allowing for more precise analytics on product and variant performance at every stage of the customer journey.

What’s New?

With this update, you can now track the following additional dimensions:

  • Referring Site – Understand where your website traffic is coming from.

  • UTM Source – Identify which platform or website is driving visitors to your store.

  • UTM Medium – Determine the type of traffic (e.g., paid, organic, referral, etc.).

  • UTM Campaign – Track the effectiveness of specific marketing campaigns.

Why This Matters for Product Analytics

Datma specializes in product-level tracking and analytics, helping you understand exactly how customers interact with your products and variants. These new dimensions provide deeper insights into:

  • Product Performance by Traffic Source – Identify which channels drive the most PDP views, add-to-cart actions, and conversions.

  • Variant-Level Engagement – See how different versions of your products perform based on referring sites and marketing campaigns.

  • Marketing Attribution for Sales – Get a clearer picture of which traffic sources in combination with products and variants are leading to actual transactions, helping optimize your marketing spend for the best-performing products.

How to Access the New Dimensions

The new dimensions are automatically available in your PixelEvents datasource. Also there are 2 template reports created that you can start using and customize as you see fit!

By leveraging these insights, you can refine your marketing strategies, optimize your product catalog, and improve conversion rates at the product and variant level.
